Darach Beag
Darach Beag is relatively new to the self catering holiday market. It is owned by Alasdair and Jean Maclean who have many years experience of successfully running Oakfield Cottage, Tobermory as a self catering establishment.
Darach Beag means 'Little Oak' in Gaelic and is pronounced Dar-Ach-Beg
Darach Beag is located beside Oakfield Cottage. It has its own self contained private garden and off street parking. Darach Beag is in a quiet location, at the end of a no through road, yet it is only a short walk to the main street and to local restaurant facilities.
Darach Beag is a 4 bedroom bungalow which is fully equipped to accommodate up to 7 people, in addition a cot can be provided for a baby. Tariffs are calculated by the number of people in each party. Darach Beag is regularly let to couples or small family groups.
The accommodation at Darach Beag comprises:
- a large lounge with views towards Calve Island and across the Sound of Mull to the mainland
- a large kitchen which, along with the adjacent utility room, is very well equipped with cooker, fridge freezer, dish washer, washing machine, tumble drier and microwave.
there is ample seating for up to 8 people at the kitchen table. - two double bedrooms, one with en-suite shower room
- one twin bedroom
- one single bedroom
- and a bathroom with bath and over bath shower
Darach Beag has a well stocked toy, games and books cupboard. There is also a supply of of DVDs and CDs.
Guests have a private enclosed garden with outdoor drying facilities, swings, garden seats and picnic benches.
Darach Beag has a lockable garage which can be used to store bikes, canoes, kayaks etc.
Tariffs at Darach Beag include electricity bed linen and towels.
We regret that we do not accommodate pets in Darach Beag or the grounds. Smoking is not permitted within Darach Beag.

Couldn't have had a nicer week due to the combination of the island and the accommodation. The kids loved the house and garden spending hours on the swings and running round the house. Jean and Alasdair could not have been more welcoming.
