Oakfield Cottage
Oakfield Cottage (established 1996) has been converted from the rear of Oakfield House, a large Victorian mansion located in the upper part of Tobermory.

Oakfield Cottage is entirely self contained and is situated in a quiet area, close to the golf course yet within easy reach of the town centre. Guests have full use of the large garden at the front and side of Oakfield House, which enjoys spectacular views of Calve Island, the Sound of Mull and the mainland. There is off street parking within the grounds at the door of the cottage. The garden has outdoor drying facilities and a play area with swings and a climbing frame; it is well equipped with picnic tables and garden benches. The garden is a haven for birds, many of which can be seen from the lounge at the very busy bird feeders.
The accommodation at Oakfield Cottage comprises:
On the ground floor:
- A spacious, comfortable lounge which has a television with integrated Freeview, DVD and stereo system. A well stocked books and games cupboard along with a selection of DVDs and CDs.
- A well equipped kitchen with cooker, fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine and microwave. The kitchen table can accommodate 4/5 people.
- A bathroom with a bath and over bath shower.
On the upper floor
- One double bedroom
- One twin bedroom
- It is an option to request either a cot or a folding bed to accommodate a child
Oakfield Cottage has a well stocked toy cupboard and a books/games cupboard to suit all ages.
Free wifi is available within Oakfield Cottage.
Tariffs at Oakfield Cottage include bed linen but not personal towels unless by prior arrangement with Alasdair and Jean. The property is heated by electricity and this is charged to guests using meters which use £1 coins. The meters are set at the relevant tariff, no profit is made from them. This means that guests at Oakfield Cottage pay only for the electricity they use rather than an average across all guests.
We regret that we do not accommodate pets in Oakfield Cottage or the grounds. Smoking is not permitted within Oakfield Cottage.
Larger groups may wish to reserve both Oakfield Cottage and Darach Beag (which is next door to it) allowing for up to 11 guests plus a baby/small child.
Oakfield House is owned by Jean & Alasdair Maclean, it is used by them as a holiday home; it is not let out thus ensuring that guests at Oakfield Cottage have full and exclusive use of the garden.
